Finished Crafts
Here's a quilt for our bed. It's my biggest quilt that I've made.
Front
The back
Here's a quilt I made for Hadley.
Here's the shopping cart cover. It has a green fabric on the reverse side. I still have to add the safety straps but, I have no idea how to use the button hole feature on my sewing machine. I'm sure it's completely simple but, I've never done it before. I will never make one of these again. Way too much cost & work!

My First Quilt - 4 years in the making
Here's my very first quilt, finally finished, after 4 years! I decided when Adam was a baby to make him a quilt that he could lay on/play on while we were at church. I got the top done relatively easily and then realized I completely lacked the skills to go any further. Then I somewhat figured out how to do the hand quilting (which I'll never do again) and then again realized I had no idea how to do binding. The quilt would sit untouched for 6 mos. increments until I could figure out the next step. In the midst of all this frustration, my husband commented about how the quilt was kind of girly, so the quilt was exiled for a long while as my son started nursery and no longer needed a play blanket. The quilt resurfaced as I was digging out all the stuff from our office/craft room and turning it into a somewhat useable nursery. I realized all I needed to do was the binding, and I now know how to do that from other quilts I've finished. I finished this off fairly easily and now little miss Hadley will have a play blanket. Which is good because it is kind of girly. (Sorry for the crooked picture, I cannot figure out how to take a good photo of quilts)

Grace's Baby Quilt
This is a baby quilt for my good friend Shannon. Shannon & I go waaaaay back to our single girl days. We had some great times before we both got married. Shannon just had her first baby, a precious little girl named Grace. Shannon gravitates towards vintage fabrics so these were a must. This project took more time than it took her to grow a baby. I found the pattern at the Dallas Quilt show and knew this was it! It's hard to see but, I hand embroidered phrases like peek-a-boo and baby girl throughout the quilt. The name is appliqued near the center. I did everything but the actual quilting, because let's face it, I'm slow and the baby was born 3 weeks ago. At my rate I would have it done just in time for high school graduation. The ladies at Old Town Quilts in Keller did an awesome job! Amazingly, they were able to finish my project in just one day!

Need a new Quilting Project?
Check out Amy Butler's free patterns!
My favorites are the Brick Path Quilt and the Ginger Bliss quilt.
If you love Amy Butler fabrics you can buy them locally at Cabbage Rose Quilting in Fort Worth. Bring your wallets, leave your children and husbands at home.
I think my next quilting project will be the Brick Path quilt in Moda's Blossom fabrics. Love them!
